The objectives of Huazong are as follows:

1. To promote goodwill and unity among the various races in the country.

2. To discuss and deal with matters of importance and interest to the members.

3. To offer views on government policies and implementations affecting its members.

4. To promote and participate in cultural, educational, social and economic work consistent with the Federal Constitution.

5. To liaise with other societies having similar objectives as those of the associations in furtherance of the above objectives.

The objectives of Huazong and the 13 Chinese Assembly Halls encompass all aspects of cultural, educational, social and economic work while other Chinese associations are classified according to categories or objectives, namely dialect groups, surname groups, social welfare, culture, religions, trade, sports, youth, education etc.
